Laurel A. Omert, M.D.
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Omert has served as Chief Medical Officer since
January 2005. Prior to that, she was Associate Professor of Surgery
at Drexel University and Associate Director of Trauma at Allegheny
General Hospital. She received
her B.A. from Yale University and her M.D. from the Loyola University
Stritch School of Medicine. She completed fellowships in trauma
and critical care at the Maryland Institute of Emergency Medical
Services Systems, Baltimore, MD, and in surgical research at the
University of Pittsburgh. After completing her clinical training,
Dr. Omert served as Associate Professor of Surgery and Director
of Trauma at West Virginia University. She is the author of numerous
clinical and scientific publications on various aspects of the
care of trauma patients.
